Highlight: I think the highlight of this week was the song “Drift Away”.  It was our 5th birthday as a Church and since the first mailer ever done by Chorus Church was titled “Gimme the beat boys and free my soul” we thought we’d bring the song back this week.  But the coolest part for me wasn’t even the song, it was that Pastor Dave & Dan lead the song and I sang harmony.  That’s so cool because I don’t really ever get to do that.  Mostly because I’m usually leading, but also because I’m just not good with harmonies.  😉  Oh yeah, and the fact that people were holding up their cell phones and hotting/hollering was pretty cool too!

We changed the lyrics a little.  Check it out…

Day after day I was more confused
Yet I looked for the light through the pouring rain
You know that’s a game that I hate to lose

Now I’m feeling the strength
Cause you carried me through

CHORUS
Gimme me the beat boys
He freed my soul
I walked around lost
But the Rock has rolled my sins away (REPEAT)

I was beginning to think that I wasted time
I didn’t understand the things I’d do
The world outside looked so unkind
Then I counted on You
And You carried me through

And when my mind is free
You know Your melody can move me
And when I’m feeling blue
The Spirit’s coming through to soothe me

Thanks for the joy that You’ve given me
I want You to know I believe in Your Son
I’m living in truth and harmony
You helped me along
Making me strong

Challenge:  I think the biggest challenge this week was the time change…  Wow!!!  I was in San Diego on Friday with a friend in need so I didn’t get to setup like usual.  That on top of the time change made for a very long morning.  I can’t wait for the time when we have our own facility!  😉
