Thanks 4 all the pryrs. Even before we went to the Dr. we felt God saying, “This is what Joshua needs, physically, emotionally & spiritually”. So now we begin the 2 year process of fighting Perthes. It will include surgery, 2 leg casts & intense physical therapy. Romans 5:3-5 is becoming a reality in our lives!
That little man is and will be in my daily prayers….
Thanks Sal… It’s amazing how I’m already seeing a change in him, in a good way. I have a feeling that this new adventure is going to mature him beyond his years.
Mature him??? I think it is going to mature both you and your wife.
My Name Is Lori Geist (New Brighton, PA). I am just starting this journey with my 8 yr old son Ethan. He had the casts put on yesterday (Jan 9th) and surgery is scheduled for Feb 6th at childrens hospital of pittsburgh. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.

How is it going Lori?
My only advice is to get lots of LEGOS and a table for the wheelchair like we got for Joshua. You can follow our journey via photos on facebook here…

We just arrived home from childrens hospital in Pittsburgh today. My son’s surgery was Monday. They removed the leg casts and did the ostetomy. He is in a lot of pain, but he knows he has to fight through it. Today is a better day than yesterday. And I hope tomorrow will be better, and so on. He opted to do the crutches instead of the walker. We will also use the wheelchair as needed. Prayers to your son and keep me posted
