It seems like I’ve been sharing this verse and praying this prayer for so many of my friends and family members lately. So much so that I felt led to share it with all of you on Social Media. So hey, if you or someone you know is going through it right now, let me encourage you with Psalm 20:1-3.
May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble!May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!May he send you help from the sanctuaryand give you support from Zion!May he remember all your offeringsand regard with favor your burnt sacrifices!Selah
Notice that the word S E L A H that comes at the end of this prayer for help. It’s a mysterious word in Hebrew. It can mean any or all of the following…
“stop & listen”
“pause & rest”
“so let it be done”
So for all of you that are going through it right now… whether it be cancer, the loss of a loved one, a financial struggle or some other tragedy, let me encourage you with the following.
Take a second to stop and listen for the voice of God.
Take a minute to “pause and rest” in the presence of God.
Take a moment to pray to God for help and for healing… and then trust in the Lord to answer you… so much so that you can say “so let it be done”… and find the peace of God that surpasses all understanding in the midst of your chaos!
And for those of you that for whatever reason can’t find the strength to pray that prayer for yourselves, know that we’re hear praying it over you.
