When I first started blogging almost 10 years ago, I’m pretty sure I did it for narcissistic reasons. Like a baby looking in the mirror for the first time I was enamored with my own reflections. Constantly monitoring my readership and praying for someone to comment. I found myself fishing for followers on other blogs, joining groups to get more readers and measuring my own worth based on my blog’s popularity. It was not healthy. So I stopped.
As you’ve probably noticed (actually you probably haven’t), this blog has been pretty inactive for a number of years. There’s just a few posts here and there designed to inform people about what’s been going on in our lives. And that, I believe, is the ultimate purpose of a healthy blog.
Communication!
Some people blog for blogging sake, others for narcissistic reasons and still others for only God knows what. As for me, I’ve set a goal this year to be a better communicator and I’ll be using this blog to do just that. I hope that’s okay with you. I hope it doesn’t hurt my readership. I hope… wait, who am I kidding? I’m pretty much the only one that reads this blog anyway! So let the communicating begin!
Blog away my friend.
